“”How old would you be if you didn’t know how old you are?” – Satchel Paige
I’d probably want to remain 25 forever honestly, but I have one more year before that can even be a possibility. I turned 24 on Monday (April 04th), and no I don’t feel any different yet. I celebrated the Friday before, on April Fool’s day, and got a little carried away, but I enjoyed myself nonetheless.
I also silk pressed my hair for the first time in two years, and man oh man, I’ve gotta say I missed having straight hair. Now, don’t get me wrong, I love my kinky coils, but having it straight is much easier to manage and style. Well at least for me because I am sort of lazy when it comes to my hair.
G has been such an amazing support system for me these past few days. I’ve had exams all week including my graduate comprehensive exam and I am PRAYING that I passed. I wouldn’t say that the exam was hard, but it was challenging. Having to remember information you learned two years ago is difficult, and do you know how many beers I’ve had between then and now? Memory loss is real people.
However, I will remain positive and I will send every ounce of positive energy I have left to the universe. Next is the GRE exam next month. You’re probably thinking, “How the hell did she get admitted into graduate school without taking the GRE first?” Well, I’ve been wondering the same thing, but I’m almost done now so there’s no need to even care.
Summer is quickly approaching and I’d like to get the results of this exam ASAP ROCKY so that it can be smooooooth sailing in summer when I take my last two graduate classes. *sings praises to the Lord above* Hallelujah.
Sunday, while looking through Pinterest for the first time in Jah knows how long, I found a recipe for sliders that I wanted to try for our Sunday lunch. Being from the Midwest, where a famous little restaurant is known for their delicious beef sliders….*calls Harold & Kumar* I had a random craving for White Castle and because there isn’t one within 100 miles, an alternative from Pinterest would have to do.
I came across these Salmon Sliders with Chipotle Mayo from DamnDelicious.net. I revamped her recipe slightly. I added a few more toppings, like mushrooms and avocado, and opted to buy some fresh baked Honey-Wheat Kaiser Rolls from our local grocer instead of preparing them from scratch as she did. I also left out the bacon for G’s sake, but I’m also trying to cut back on pork. *le sigh* 🙁
Let us know if you try the sliders! They were definitely delicious.
Now, let that digest.
